Note:
No method of
cutting nails is proven by Sunnah. However, it is recommended that the nails of
the right hand be cut first, then the fingers of the left hand and the index
finger of the right hand. As far as finishing on the thumb of the right hand is
concerned, Allama Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) has written that the
complete nails of the right hand should be cut first, then the nails of the
left hand. Researchers such as Hafiz Ibn Hajar, Ibn Daqiq Al-Eid, Allama Suyuti
and Allama Ibn Abidin, may God have mercy on them, have written that the Sunnah
method of cutting nails is not proven, so they can be cut in any way, but the
best method is the one as shown above.
ناخن کاٹنے کا کوئی طریقہ سنت سے ثابت
نہیں ہے۔ البتہ مستحب یہ ہے کہ پہلے دائیں
ہاتھ کے ناخن کاٹے جائیں پھر بائیں ہاتھ کے۔اور دائیں ہاتھ کی شہادت کی انگلی سے
شروع کرنا چاہیے۔ جہاں تک بات ہے کہ دائیں ہاتھ
کے انگوٹھے پر ختم کرنے کی، تو علامہ نووی رحمہ اللہ نے لکھا ہے کہ دائیں
ہاتھ کے مکمل ناخن پہلے کاٹنے چاہییں، پھر بائیں ہاتھ کے مکمل ناخن۔ حافظ ابن حجر،
ابن دقیق العید، علامہ سیوطی اور علامہ ابن عابدین رحمہم اللہ جیسے محققین نے یہی لکھا ہے کہ ناخن کاٹنے کا
سنت طریقہ ثابت نہیں ہے، لہٰذا کسی طریقے سے بھی کاٹ سکتے ہیں، تاہم بہتر طریقہ وہ
ہے جو اوپر لکھا گیا۔
